School board trustees are elected every four years to oversee Ontario's school boards. The YRDSB's twelve trustees approve an annual $1.5 billion budget and set the school board policies that students, parents and teachers are subjected to.


          Municipal and school board elections in Ontario will be held this fall. Voter information cards will be mailed out by the City of Richmond Hill. You can vote:

  • Online from 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 18 to 8:00 PM on Monday, October 24; or

  • In person at your local polling station on October 22nd and 23rd from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM or on October 24th from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Click here for a  map of voting locations


To be eligible to vote for Robert you must be:

  • A Canadian citizen;

  • At least 18 years old;

  • A resident of Richmond Hill Wards 1, 2 or 4 (see the attached map); and

  • Registered to vote in the English Public school board (not the English Separate school board or French school boards)

If you receive a physical or digtal ballot, please ensure that it is for the English Public school board. If not, ask to have your registration changed to this school board. If voting in person, speak to the staff at the poll station. If voting online find the option in the voting software to call the Voter Assistance phone number.
